🍀 A genius leaves clues – Ken on “feeling happy for others and tell yourself that you are next” 🍀

TWICE, for two times, Ken had talked about feeling happy for others when they succeed in life and then telling yourself that you are next. Instead of feeling bitter about it and then shut away.

While I had got it intellectually that this is a practice to get in the vibe of abundance flowing, it always seem to me that there is more.

I think, the opposite is also the same, people can* also feel happy for me when I win and see that if I can do it, so can they! They need not feel bitter about it either!!!

(*notice that I used “can”, I don’t need nor demand them to be)

Last night I remember how my mother have always said to me since I was a child to NEVER BOAST ABOUT MYSELF.

For sure that is some good teaching, just that I tend to take it overly seriously. I was letting all the chances slip in the name of being humble and then allowing jealous people to abuse me just because they don’t have what I have.

Of course I don’t go around blowing my own trumpet, and should I find myself talking with a publisher looking for traveling writers, I be telling them ALL about my travel history and language skill and how I can make everything work. This ain’t boasting!!! If I don’t give out my talent, I be ripping the world of it. And I say this with all neutrality, I am not saying that I am superior than others.

In one of my most, most, most favourite book, The Alchemist, by Paulo Coelho, it is said that EVERY BLESSING IGNORED BECOMES A CURSE.

I would love to surround myself with happy people who feel joyous, <3

🍀 October Topic Call, Breakout Room Discussion: Invisible Asset 🍀

I wanted to share this last night and my computer ran out of battery and for the first time I got on ZOOM on my phone. =D

So, anyway, my invisible asset is my FREEDOM TO THINK.

Viktor Frankl said: “Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”

Some will call this an internal GSP, or intuition. SO, MY FREEDOM TO THINK got me here to learn about happy money when I have nothing; so to speak. And this community is adding so much to my life!!!

During the breakout room, I remember this thing:

When I was 18, till I was in my early 20s in the early 2000, many people around me has this life + financial advice about getting a DRIVER’S LICENSE. The “rationale” behind this was, it is a plus point to one’s resume and a unique skill to have, especially for business students. Potential employers is going to value a sales person who can drive around.

Except that in Singapore we have such an intensive public transport and taxis are always bookable. And also no one is going to take fresh graduates that seriously. HAHA!!!

This advice finally got phased out with Grab transport (it is the equivalent of Uber in other countries) and ZOOM meetings. And everything being more expensive.

Instead, I had used all my money on self-development books, going to a Japanese language school weekly and numerous budget trips to Japan. I was once so “poor” I got a “cheap ass” 105 yen (about USD$1) packaged Soba (buckwheat noodles) from this “dubious” shop. It was just boiled Soba with a tiny pack of noodle sauce and some spring onions.

It has been 11 years, my soul is still nourished by the memory of Soba fragrance.

Later on in my late 20s to now, I heard of my peers never having driven once after they got their license and or that there is just this someone who was on their NINTH attempt. So much money spent on this stressful thing.

Because of our country size (we can hardly accommodate the whole of Florida Disneyland!!!), Singapore is a place where owning a vehicle is delibrately made difficult. We actually need to spend some $20,000 (about USD$15,000) yearly to get a car ownership license. When I first heart that cars in America and Japan cost as little as just a few thousand or less, my mind was blown!!! I remember walking by many new and 2nd hand car dealerships in Okinawa, Japan and feeling like I can own the whole place. HAHAHAHAAAA!!!!!!!!!!

SO, I am just thankful that I made own life and financial decision since I was 18. And I am still reaping benefits!!! One of the happiest thing is meeting fellow Japanese learners and have it common that we had thought of being translators. I am in such a state of bliss, I can actually say THANK YOU to myself. Perhaps this can be seen as self-inflating in Asian societies, yet, I HAVE MY FREEDOM TO THINK!!!!!! And then on a bigger sense, I feel the oneness of the world supporting me. I can freely get from all over the world. Isn’t that incredible?? And without my FREEDOM TO THINK, I can’t be aware of all these!

I cannot imagine not having experienced all that I experienced and instead got a driver’s license tuck away in the abyss.

Recently I am binging on a lot of Wayne Dyer’s materials. He said this which I find very interesting.

Back in the 70s, Wayne was a University professor receiving a stable paycheck and his large family was growing. However he went ahead to resign and publish his first book, to be on his way to be an author and speaker.

Wayne said, if he had been a person who have always fulfilled his financial duties, why would he now think that he is not going to able to that anymore??

Just because I don’t have a 40-year housing loan (yup, in Singapore we have expensive houses since we are all crazy rich Asians. ROFL!!!!!) to pay off now and all those stuff, it is not enough to say my life is thus in ruins. I was unconventional when I was 18, and it paid off well until now. What if I am on a very right path?

    Namaste everyone!!!

🍀 Money Wounds From Parents: My mother told me she didn’t know better 🍀

One of the most beautiful teaching I got from Ken was this thing about UNDERSTANDING that our parents were in their 20s and 30s when we were still children, and they were still young and the money wounds they passed to us was not on purpose. They just didn’t know better.

Ken saying this was just like balm to my soul. It got me to stop my blame, my anger and look at it with a clear head.

Ken went on to add that now that we are at an age older than our parents at those time, we can see even clearer as to why our parents did what they did.

When I was a child, my mother helped out at a school canteen of my cousin’s husband. My mother had an older brother 15 years her senior who got married early and so my cousins were just 10+ years younger than my mother. It makes their relationship kinda wonderful, an aunt who is also like a sister and mother/care-taker.

So anyway, my mother had ALL sorts of money issue with my cousins. One thing was, my mother thought it was ok to get a bit of this and that and one particular cousin was just so firm with saying NO. Now, it is not that my mother was being a cheapskate, since it was a family business, people just take this and that as long as it was in reasonable quantity. There was something going on around there against my mother somehow, it could be my father since nobody like him and we all got dragged down with him. (However, as I age and as I get into more learning, I find this one of the greatest gift in my spiritual path.)

My mother had for years told me how she was very hurt by this cousin, her niece, and she felt that she was being unnecessary mean. Frankly, as much as I could empathise with my mother, I felt that she was also being insensitive on her side. Things like, we can buy our own aluminum foils and prevent all the drama.

Finally today, while stopping me from eating all the curry, my mother said to me that there is no point in staying angry at ONE thing. That is why today she can invite my cousin over to eat. And bless my mother and allowing me to be born her daughter, my mother said this:

“Your cousin was so mean as to not spare me some aluminum foils. I HAD NO IDEA WITH ALL THESE KITCHEN STUFF. I WAS NEW TO ALL OF IT. But I am not angry and hurt anymore. Your cousin had her young days too.”

My mother, born in 1947 was from a rubber plantation in Muar, Malaysia. When she was a child, she had to take a FERRY to buy stationaries, you can guess how unlinked my grandfather’s family were from the modern world. She was operating to the best she know. Singapore was a total foreign place to her and my cousin.

I was just telling a fellow ALC member that in a way I had things very easy. All my problems were properly defined, for example, I felt inferior because people were stingy towards my mother, and I can so easily get over it. It was nothing difficult to understand. With understanding I can choose a whole new way. I am blessed with so much knowledge, I don’t need to live in scarcity mode like my relatives.

I AM SO THANKFUL THAT I GOT A WHOLE NEW BRAND NEW CHANCE IN LIFE!!!

By the way, the most important thing about this post is, follow this video for the BEST CURRY in the WORLD.

🍀 Planning according to the BEST, NORMAL and WORST scenarios 🍀

Sometime late December 2021 I got Ken’s 2022 organsier. There was just this strange pull at me to get it even though I already got another organiser.

Ken’s organiser has an accompanying little booklet which is quite like the theme for the year. Other that the general stuff of what an organiser does, there are a whole lot of other wonderful things, blank pages for notes, boxes to fill in synchronicities, thoughts at the end of the day, highlights from books and all.

And of coz there is this page on future scenarios. Frankly, I had to push myself to start writing because back then I was just sitting around waiting for things happen. Like why bother?? I also didn’t understand why Ken suggests writing 3 scenarios of how my future might unfold. Especially on why think about the WORST scenario? Is that to prepare for the worst??

Later on in a monthly meeting here, Ken briefly talked about these 3 scenarios and I learned that these would guide one’s feeling in life. For example if today I feel like how I would be in my worst scenario, I may want to move myself up. And if I feel like I am in the vibe of my best scenario, I simply carry on with it!

I soon forgot about this whole thing until last night when I got an email on Ken’s 2023 organiser is now out. I almost spill my tea as I ran to my room to look at my 2022 page.

I went from a fat depressed person to still chubby but with 102+ Youtube videos made. And may I also boast that I made them in 3 languages and they are so interesting for they cover things from gossip to spirituality!!! =D

I really became a content creator.

On the next page the topic was LOOK FOR NEW POSSIBILITES and again, I was so reluctant to do that. I just casually jot down some things that I can explore about.

    Wooohoooo guess what?

Fast forward some 10 months, I managed to get Manga (Japanese comic) and Hyperrealism Ballpoint pen art courses on Udemy a couple of weeks back. They were by very qualified instructors and I got these on sales!! I am literally ripping the Universe off omg. And before these I had felt like whatever art skill I had reached a plateau. Help is all around! If only I start receiving!!

Hehehehheheee~~~ I am so happy. In the 2023 organiser I am going to write SKINNY CRAZY RICH in all scenarios. HAHAHAAAAaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!

🍀🍀 Mixing Talents, Doing What You Love 🍀🍀

One thing I remember from Ken’s monthly meeting was him saying about combining talent. Things like you can mix your cooking skill and speaking skill to produce cooking tutorials.

And I just went on a whole play of combining what I can do!! 😆

My first podcast on Youtube! It was a random move because after I got my audio done on my Samsung phone (long live ANDROID! Ok, I mean, simple equipment can get you far), I don’t have the right phone holder to record me drawing. And I thought, why not just make it into a podcast?

    https://youtu.be/L6Zuz9PsWKg

Tip: There are a bunch of sites supporting podcasts for free, while they are all awesome, I highly recommend posting your work to Spotify and/or Youtube. Becoz these 2 sites are still the two most frequently used sites and monetising from them is easier for starters. Tik Tok is on fire of coz, but they don’t feature long videos.

I first got my plain audio-less moving video on http://www.canva.com and then transferred it to my phone via Google Drive (awesome free cloud storage and transfer!!) and added in my voice recording via my phone’s built in video editor.

THEN I FINALLY GOT MY VOICE OVER A TIME LASPE VIDEO DONE!!!! 😍

    https://youtu.be/rpB5orCYd7I

I used my phone editor to 2x the speed, upload it to Youtube as a private video and again use my my phone to record my voice while I watched the video. Piece everything together and onto Youtube again.

The movie series that I talked about is this, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High%26Low

It is so fun to talk about what I like and having to take only ONE take to say everything before time is up!

Video presentations can be so helpful for businesses! Start on them today!

🍀 After Party Topic of 15th/16th August Monthly Call 🍀

Before I start, I have to say… it is just super incredible to meet so many amazing people here! ARIGATO!!! It always makes me happy to interact with others. <3

Topic 1: What is something that is blocking you on better happy money?

Talk about life being transformed in an instant.

Towards the end of Ken’s talk he mentioned how his work can help people achieve peace, healing and financial independence. YUP. Financial independence.

I think at times people, or rather, I think too small. I might think a small healthy snack after my dinner would be great in my life. But what if my soul would enjoy something better? Like a dinner with a bunch of close friends and I eat at least a bag of blue corn chips after dinner and enjoy the blessing of companion from my friends?

In my previously smaller thinking, I thought, it would be cool to have more money to my already good life. And of coz I wasn’t get much major breakthroughs. Because, ultimately I would prefer financial independence AND doing what I love AND dinner with close friends. And blue corn chips.

How about I need to first allow in a better goal and not just being so-so? AMAZING realisation for me!

Topic 2: What can you start doing to better this situation?

Interestingly I have been practising giving money as a way to allow back the natural circulation of money. (Note: NOT giving to receive and NOT giving begrudgingly and also NOT expecting anything in return) And of coz I do it within my means. And something reallyyyyyyyyyy interesting happened.

I thought for a start I can start with 99 cents Kindle books and any books that are within my means. One night I decided to buy a 99 cents Kindle book although I can get a free PDF of it. That was my way of thanking the author.

And then later from another book, I got introduced to MANY great books which I normally would not have know of. Next was, while most of them were out of print or meet some degree of free use, I could get all these books as free PDFs online!!!

The amazing thing with this is, quite for the first time, the story don’t end with HORAYYY!!! I got free stuff!!! I begin to think on, and allow in inspiration on if there is anyway I can be of help to the universe with my freely given knowledge. And as I am typing now, wow, would this all lead me to my life work and the likes.

    Incredible!!!!

    Love to all of you!!!!

🍀🍀 Happy Money —–> Arigato in and Arigato out 🍀🍀

10 years ago I made the travel “mistake” of visiting Tokyo Disneyland. I had told my travel partner MANY times that NOPE, I am **not** interested in a man-made children’s theme park. And thank goodness for her insistent, I relented.

10 years later I only love Disneyland more and have been back on 2 more times, one time was to the famous DisneySEA. The latter place even has MILK TEA POPCORN. When I die I will probably find myself at a Disneysea. ROFL!!! And I love the Pirates of The Caribbean ride so much, I can just go back to Disneyland and spend my entire day there.

May I also add that on my trip to Disneysea, a really nice guy accompanied me the whole time? Frankly I was seriously very, very, very sadden that he didn’t reciprocate my like for him back then, but looking back at it now, I am so thankful for his friendship. =D It is totally one of my best friend-date. :3

Wow, I never really understand the whole thing with “do what you love and follow your intuition” on a experiential level. Now that I follow my heart and produce this ballpoint pen + acrylic paint + pigment pen art piece, I got so many emotional things cleaned out. Like what many teachers said, a reframing of mind is what will help.

I was pretty much the only kid around who chose to spend most of my money to travel when I was younger. It seemed like such a bad money choice but look at all the growth and expansion it brought me!! Money when used well, really bring so much happiness. And may I also add that part of this chain of goodness is, I worked part-time in offices during my University holidays to earn my travel funds. This might sound strange for most student part-timers/temp staff are usually in the service field, isn’t it. I thought I am an introvert and jumped straight into office life. I used to think I was quite miserable to have to do that, and now I see that I was soooooooooooooooo super very lucky to not only gotten money to travel, I kind of “entered the workforce” before my peers. Also I am part Introvert and part Extrovert. It is such a good thing for me to know myself because trying to follow either stressed me out so much previously!!! I was never quiet nor loud enough. Now I know, I am special. LOL!

And years later along the road, I have a better idea on what I love to do long terms and what I don’t really enjoy. One of it was, I boldly joined startups and small companies and I had many experience of being a big fish in a small bowl. I am very grateful to have experienced the many things that a stable regular staff might not get a chance to.

Okie, I don’t want to go too long. MAKE GOOD ART!!! by Zen Pencils.
