For me, I have a husband of thirty years, two children in their twenties, two brothers (and their very different families) in the UK (I’m in Australia now). My parents have both passed in the last five years, but are very much with me still. I’m thinking of my dad as it’s coming up to the fourth anniversary. I think it was my dad who instilled in me a fierce sense of family – he was very protective of us – I would not have liked to be anyone who crossed our family!!!
More recently I have extended my sense of family to the broader community of human kind and the non-human world, particularly my Buddhist sangha, and the Arigato community.
